Less Is More: Choosing Simplicity Over Fame in Nei Qi Gong

A Lesson Hidden in Three Stories
Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities that could have changed my life in ways I once thought I desired. When I began teaching Nei Qi Gong, a well-known American publisher reached out, inviting me to collaborate on a video course. Later, a bestselling author contacted me to participate in a project about energy work. Finally, a major producer proposed a documentary, potentially to appear on platforms like Netflix, where I would be the central figure.
Each of these moments carried the same promise — exposure, visibility, and the possibility of reaching thousands, maybe millions of people. For a brief time, I felt the excitement that naturally arises when we are recognized for what we love. But after reflection, and with the guidance of my teacher, I declined every offer.
At the time, I didn’t fully understand why. Now I do.
The Hidden Cost of Visibility
What I realized is that visibility is not always a blessing. In the beginning, it looks like a door to share knowledge with the world. But behind that door often lies a loss of freedom. Fame can be seductive, but it comes with noise, expectations, and the slow erosion of inner silence — the very thing that Nei Qi Gong cultivates.
My teacher once told me that the greatest power of Nei Qi Gong lies in its simplicity. The more we strip away, the more space we find for truth. And I see that now more than ever. A quiet life allows the practice to deepen naturally, without distortion or distraction. When you become “somebody,” you lose something invisible — the sacred intimacy with life itself.
Freedom Through Simplicity
Declining those opportunities wasn’t an act of rejection — it was an act of preservation. I understood that what I truly value is not visibility, but depth. I want to live simply, practice daily, and share with sincerity — not through the lens of mass media, but through direct human connection.
This is the essence of what I teach and what I try to embody:
Being nobody allows the practice to be everything.
Simplicity is not laziness or lack of ambition. It is strength — the strength to say no to what doesn’t serve your soul. It’s choosing peace over noise, silence over performance, and depth over quantity.
The Practice Behind the Choice
In Nei Qi Gong, every gesture, every breath, every act of attention refines the practitioner from within. We work with the vital energy, but also with the human being who channels it. If the person is not balanced, compassionate, and grounded, the energy itself will reflect that imbalance.
That’s why I believe a simple life supports true spiritual development. A life with space for silence, for stillness, for listening. When there is less interference, the Qi flows freely — and something greater than us begins to act through us.
An Invitation to Reflect
If there is one message I can share from these experiences, it is this:Less is truly more. Not because simplicity is a moral virtue, but because it is a condition for seeing clearly.
The world is full of noise — even spiritual noise. But when we choose to slow down, to do less, to be less — what remains is presence. And from that presence, everything that matters naturally unfolds.
