Qi Gong & Meditation Exercises Drive Me CRAZY!

It is a very counterintuitive fact that when we start practicing meditation or Qi Gong, instead of experiencing blissfulness, peace, and relaxation we usually feel quite irritated.

Starting a path of personal growth such as these two unveils various problematic aspects of ourselves and brings to the surface our limitations: physical, emotional, and mental ones.

While spirituality is usually presented to us as a "nice escape" from life to find relief in some kind of perfect spiritual dimension. In reality, the real work will not mislead us into this type of illusion.

On the contrary, the spiritual process will be a quite practical "mirror" where we can observe our unconscious processes that are affecting the way we perceive existence and ourselves.

When we start to practice meditation or Qi Gong might not be pleasant at all because we might realize how our mind works: its little way of operating, its lack of ability to stay focused, its constant chattering, etc...

On an emotional level, we might realize that we are full of destructive emotions: envy, jealousy, egocentric attitude, laziness, etc...

On a physical level, we might realize our difficulty in using and moving the body in a certain way: stiffness in the body, lack of awareness of it, inability to perform certain moves, etc...

In the beginning, working on ourselves is a rather complicated job, because in the initial phases of our meditation or Qi Gong journey the moment of peace, openness, relaxation, and clarity might be very few. In fact, we meet our personal resistance.

This is where the journey starts: becoming aware of who we are in that moment. It is not about reciting some exotic mantras, or dressing in a spiritual way that will make the work different or easier.

Working on ourselves requires courage, dedication, and a certain degree of seriousness. If we persist with it and are willing to move on honestly, we find out what needs improvement in the 3 main aspects of the human being (emotional, mental, and physical).

After the initial phase of "personal disturbance" or resistance, our experience of life will start to change and the meditation or Qi Gong practice could turn into a wonderful moment in our daily life where we are experientially able to tap into a deeper part of ourselves.

However, to do that first we need to stabilize the mind a little bit, increase the general awareness of ourselves, and transcend naturally our bad habits, emotions, limitations, thanks to a patient and serious work.
